Cutting Disk for Grinder Pack of 5+1 Free

Tork Craft 5 + 1 Cutting Disc Deal:

The durable Tork Craft 5+1 Cutting Disc deal bundles premium, resin-bonded abrasive wheels, giving users a free disc with every five purchased.  Designed for use on small angle grinders, these ultra-thin, fiberglass-reinforced discs provide fast, precise, and burr-free cutting on steel and stainless steel.

Top Features

  • Material Composition: Manufactured with high-quality Corundum (aluminum oxide) abrasive grains bonded with industrial-grade resin and reinforced with heavy-duty fiberglass netting.
  • Ultra-Slim Profile: Discs are generally 1.0 mm thick, which reduces friction and material wastage, allowing for faster and cooler cuts.
  • INOX Formulation: Formulated to be iron, sulfur, and chlorine-free to prevent surface contamination and rusting on stainless steel.
  • High Efficiency: Requires less pressure to slice through metal, which reduces strain on the grinder’s motor.

Essential Safety Guidelines

  • Always wear PPE: Equip yourself with safety goggles, a face shield, ear muffs, and a dust mask to protect against flying sparks and debris.
  • Use the Guard: Never operate your angle grinder without the wheel guard properly mounted and adjusted.
  • Inspect before use: Check the disc for chips, cracks, or dampness prior to mounting. Do not use expired discs.
  • Do not side-load: Cut straight through the material. Twisting the disc in the cut or applying side pressure can cause binding, shattering, and dangerous kickback

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    • What sizes are available? The 5+1 deal is most popular in the 115 × 1.0 × 22.2 mm size for smaller, standard angle grinders, though packs for 230 mm grinders are also available for heavier jobs.
    • Can I use steel cutting discs on masonry or wood? No. Tork Craft produces specific silicon carbide discs for cutting masonry. Using a metal-cutting disc on masonry will wear out the wheel almost instantly and presents serious safety hazards.
    • How do I know if my disc is expired? Bonded abrasive wheels are usually stamped with an expiration date (typically three years from the manufacturing date) near the center metal ring.

Instructions on the correct mounting procedure

Pre-Mounting Safety Check
    • Disconnect power: Unplug the grinder or remove the battery before touching the spindle.
    • Inspect the disc: Check for cracks, chips, warpage, or moisture.
    • Check expiry date: Ensure the date stamped on the center ring has not passed.
    • Match the RPM: Verify the disc’s maximum RPM exceeds your angle grinder’s rating.
Correct Mounting Steps
    1. Remove old hardware: Take off the locking nut and the backing flange to clear debris.
    2. Seat the backing flange: Place the inner flange onto the spindle, ensuring it locks into the flat notches.
    3. Position the disc: Place the Tork Craft disc onto the spindle with the metal ring facing upward (label facing out).
    4. Thread the locking nut: Screw the outer nut on by hand; for thin 1.0mm discs, ensure the raised collar faces outward (flat side against the disc) so it clamps tightly.
    5. Lock and tighten: Press down the spindle lock button on top of the grinder gear case.
    6. Secure with the spanner: Use the two-pin spanner wrench to snug the nut clockwise; do not overtighten, as the grinder’s natural rotation self-tightens the disc during use.
Post-Mounting Test Run
    • Reattach power: Plug the unit back in or reinsert the battery.
    • Point away: Hold the grinder firmly under a workbench or away from your body.
    • Run a trial: Turn the grinder on and let it run at full speed for 60 seconds.
    • Listen for issues: If you notice unusual vibration or wobbling, switch it off immediately and re-check the installation.
Option 1: Standard Spindle with Two-Pin Lock Nut
This is the most common system used by brands like Makita, DeWalt, Ryobi, and Tork Craft.
  1. Inner Flange: Slide the inner flange onto the spindle. Make sure the two flat grooves inside the flange align perfectly with the flat sides of the spindle. It must not spin freely.
  2. Disc Placement: Drop the Tork Craft disc over the spindle thread so it rests flat against the inner flange.
  3. Tighten:Press the spindle lock button on top of the grinder casing, then use your two-pin spanner to turn the nut clockwise until snug.:
    • For thin 1.0mm cutting discs: Screw the outer nut on with the flat side facing the disc (the raised center collar points outward away from the grinder). This allows the nut to clamp down tightly on a thin wheel.
    • For thick grinding discs (above 4.0mm): Screw the outer nut on with the raised center collar facing inward to center and lock the thick disc.
    • Tighten: Press the spindle lock button on top of the grinder casing, then use your two-pin spanner to turn the nut clockwise until snug.
